Full Detail vs. Deep Detail: What’s the Difference?
A practical scope-by-scope comparison of the two combined interior and exterior packages.

The short comparison
Full Detail is the combined interior-and-exterior cleaning package. It covers the listed cabin cleaning and glass work alongside an exterior hand wash and wheel care. Deep Detail includes its documented cleaning plus additional tasks such as more involved steam and shampoo work. At current published starting prices, Full Detail begins at $179 and Deep Detail at $249; the vehicle-size rate shown in booking is what determines your actual package price.
More work isn't always what your car needs. Full Detail may be enough for regular inside-and-out cleaning. Compare Deep Detail if the carpets or seats need more attention, or you want the included pet-hair removal and leather conditioning. Check the car's condition against the service list. If something unusual needs attention, ask us before booking.
What Full Detail is built to do
Full Detail brings the cabin and exterior together in one visit rather than focusing on just one side of the vehicle. Its published inclusions cover interior vacuuming and surface cleaning, door jambs and glass, plus an exterior hand wash, wheel and tire cleaning, and tire shine. That combination can suit a car whose daily-use grime is visible both inside and out. Review the current service description for the complete task list before placing a booking.
Full Detail is not paint correction, and it does not claim polishing, sealant, or paint protection. It is not a guarantee that deep stains or permanent discoloration can be reversed. If your main goal is to improve a scratch or restore a headlight, those are separate concerns; ask whether a separately listed service fits. Clear terminology avoids mistaking an interior-and-exterior clean for specialized refinishing.
What Deep Detail adds
Deep Detail is intended for a more involved reset and includes deeper steam and shampoo work. Its stated additions are useful when dirt is not limited to loose surface debris and the interior needs more attention than a routine wipe-down. Specific inclusions may change, so use the live package description and booking details rather than assuming an old list is still current. The extra work is priced accordingly, starting at $249 before vehicle-size differences.
Clay Bar Treatment: from $40 is optional on Full Detail and Deep Detail, and included with Prestige Detail. It removes surface contamination; it is not polishing or a protective coating. We use shampoo and steam where needed and safe for the material, but results vary with stain age, fabric and previous treatment. One visit cannot guarantee removal of wear, dye transfer, sun damage or a persistent odor source. Share photos and relevant history before service so we can explain what is realistic.
Use a quick condition audit
Walk around the car in good light and note the exterior first: is the concern ordinary dust, adhered contamination, or a mark that appears to be damage? Open the doors and check carpets, mats, seat surfaces, and cargo floor. Loose sand or crumbs are different from embedded grime; an isolated spill differs from a widespread cabin condition. This quick audit produces a more useful conversation than describing a car as “really dirty” without examples.
Next, decide whether you need one side of the car or both. If the cabin looks good but the exterior needs a wash, compare the maintenance option instead of paying for a combined package. If only the interior is the problem, an interior-only clean may be more appropriate. Choose Full Detail when both sides need its listed work; choose Deep Detail when the specific added steps match the condition. Ask about anything outside those descriptions.
Price, vehicle size, and extras
Published starting prices describe the smallest applicable vehicle tier. Sedan, SUV/crossover, and truck rates differ, and your selected vehicle category changes the total. Extras are also separate unless specifically included in the package. Headlight Restoration is not included by default. The booking flow shows current vehicle pricing and any chosen additions before you reserve; check that summary carefully and do not compare only the two headline starts.
If you are comparing providers, request a written list of inclusions and ask whether the price changes with size, condition, or selected extras. A competitor’s “deep” or “full” package may have a different meaning. Compare individual tasks, not package labels. If a specialist process such as paint correction is your priority, ask directly whether it is offered; neither Full Detail nor Deep Detail should be assumed to include work that is not explicitly listed.
Choose and prepare with confidence
Before booking, remove personal items and valuables, identify surfaces that need attention, and make sure there is room to work around the car. If a child seat, business equipment, or cargo cannot be moved, mention it. A permitted driveway or workplace space is needed; confirm building or property approval and garage access before reserving. Tell the team about heavy contamination, existing damage, or stains that may need a separate discussion.
Full Detail cleans the cabin and exterior in one visit. For embedded dirt or heavier buildup, compare Deep Detail, with targeted shampoo and steam where needed and safe. For local details and booking, see [Carlsbad](/carlsbad), [Del Mar Heights](/del-mar-heights), [Rancho Bernardo](/rancho-bernardo), and [Point Loma](/point-loma). Select the package whose inclusions correspond to your condition, then use the online booking flow to confirm the correct vehicle-size amount and open times.
If a package page uses a term you do not recognize, ask what the task means for your exact surface rather than inferring an outcome from the label. A clear conversation can separate routine cleaning from specialized paint work, identify a stain that needs a different process, and prevent an optional service from being added without your approval. Keep the decision tied to the written scope and the vehicle's current condition.
